For an awesome spectacle, a visit to Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world should not be missed. Located in the Canaima National Park on the border between Venezuela and Brazil, Angel Falls are the highest waterfalls in the world, nearly one thousand metres high.
Named after Jimmy Angel, the American pilot who discovered them in 1937, the falls spill from a plateau into Devil’s Canyon, with a drop of more than 800 metres to create an incredible mist of spray at the bottom to feed the Churun River.
On arrival at Canaima landing strip, you will be transferred to a basic but comfortable posada. In the afternoon you will discover Sapo falls by walking behind an impressive water curtain. Overnight at a posada.
You will board motorised dugout canoes and begin the journey towards falls the magnificent falls, meandering along rivers, lagoons and rapids. Trek through virgin rainforest before reaching a platform to observe the falls up close and take a bath in the lagoon at the base. Overnight in hammock camp at the base of the falls.
Start your return journey from the falls back to Canaima. Overnight at ecolodge.
In the morning board a plan for a scenic overflight and last glimpse of the falls before the return back to Caracas. Fly from Canaima – Puerto Ordaz to Caracas.
