Cariocas, Gauchos and Incas
27 Days / 26 Nights

This journey covers the famous sights of South America in four unforgettable weeks, allowing you to experience the Cariocas way of living in Rio de Janeiro. Visit the famous Christ the Redeemer statue & Sugarloaf Mountain before experiencing the largest waterfalls in the world "Iguazu Falls". Continue on to exciting Buenos Aires – "The Paris of South America" where you will have the chance to see the real Tango and the typical Gauchos. Further south you will arrive at Bariloche (where the Andes meets Patagonia), the lakes district, and then cross the Andes with an overnight at Peulla before continuing to the Chilean lakes district to Puerto Montt. Travel to Lima and then to the jungles of the Amazon basin.

After a jungle adventure, you will head to the ancient capital of Cuzco to begin the mysterious journey of the Incas, visiting the Sacsayhuaman fortress, Pisac and Ollantaytambo and staying overnight in the Sacred Valley. A unique train ride will take you to the magnificent Machu Picchu citadel before your scenic bus journey across the altiplano to Puno and catamaran trip across Lake Titicaca.

Visit the villagers across on the Uros and Taquile islands where Quechua, the language of the Incas is kept alive, before reaching La Paz. Explore the Bolivian capital including the volcanic rock formations and witchcraft market before finishing your amazing journey in Santiago, the stylish capital of Chile set against the magnificent Andes Mountains.

Full day tour of Corcovado & Sugarloaf including bbq lunch.

Day 3:    RIO DE JANEIRO (B)
Day at leisure.

Day 4:    RIO DE JANEIRO -  IGUAZU FALLS (B)
Transfer to airport and flight to Iguazu Falls. Transfer to hotel.

Day 5:    IGUAZU FALLS (B)
Half day Brazilian side tour.

Day 6:    IGUAZU FALLS - BUENOS AIRES (B)
Half day Argentina side tour. Transfer to airport and flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 7:    BUENOS AIRES (B,D)
Half day city tour of Buenos Aires. Evening Dinner and Tango show.

Day 8:    BUENOS AIRES (B,L)
Full day tour to Gaucho farm including typical Argentinean lunch.

Day 9:    BUENOS AIRES – BARILOCHE (B)
Transfer to airport and flight to Bariloche "Where the Andes meets Patagonia". On arrival transfer to hotel.

Half-day city tour visiting Cerro Cathedral, Llao Llao, Laguna Trebol & Centro Civico.

Day 11:    BARILOCHE – PEULLA (Lake crossing) (B,D)
Andes lakes crossing by bus/boat to Peulla navigating Nahuel Huapi.

Day 12:    PEULLA - PUERTO MONTT (B)
Continue Lakes crossing by boat/ bus to Puerto Varas on the shores of Llanquihue Lake and transfer by bus to Puerto Montt.

Day 13:    PUERTO MONTT- SANTIAGO – LIMA (B)
Transfer to airport and flight to Lima via Santiago. At arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 14:    LIMA - AMAZON JUNGLE (Tambopata Jungle Lodge) (B, D)
Transfer to airport and flight to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer by boat to lodge.

Day 15:    AMAZON JUNGLE (B,L,D)
Full day activities, canoeing, birdwatching, jungle trekking, piranha fishing and alligator spotting.

Day 16:    AMAZON JUNGLE- CUZCO (B)
A dawn start is required for the canoe trip back to Puerto Maldonado giving memorable views of the sunrise over the river and transfer to airport and flight to Cuzco.

Day 17:    CUZCO (B)
City tour of Cuzco, Tambo Machay, Kenko and Sacsayhuaman ruins.

Day 18:    CUZCO – SACRED VALLEY (B,L)
Full day tour of colourful Pisac and Ollantaytambo markets and ruins. Overnight in Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 19:    SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU (B)
Train to Machu Picchu, ruins tour and overnight.

Day 20:    MACHU PICCHU - CUZCO (B)
Morning free to visit ruins. Afternoon train to Cuzco.

Day 21:    CUZCO - PUNO (B)
Spectacular bus journey across the altiplano to Puno on Lake Titicaca shores.

Day 22:    UROS ISLAND (B,L)
Half day tour of Uros Island.

Day 23:    PUNO - LA PAZ (B)
Bus, catamaran journey across Lake Titicaca via Sun Island to La Paz.

Day 24:    LA PAZ (B)
Half-day city tour, moon valley and witchery market.

Day 25:    LA PAZ - SANTIAGO (B)
Transfer to airport, flight to Santiago.

Day 26:    SANTIAGO (B)
Half-day city tour.

Day 27:    SANTIAGO - AUSTRALIA (B)
Transfer to airport.
