colourful city of Cuzco and surrounding ruins as well as 5 days on the Inca Trail before reaching the iconic Machu Picchu. Visit the jungle city of Puerto Maldonado and enjoy the various activities available at the Amazon Lodge.
Finish your adventure with a visit to a local village on the floating islands of Uros on Lake Titicaca.
Thursday & Saturday departures
Day 1:
AUSTRALIA – SANTIAGO – LIMA
On arrival at Lima airport, transfer to hotel.
Day 2:
LIMA (B)
Half day city tour of colonial Lima.
Day 3:
LIMA – PUERTO MALDONADO (B, L, D)
Transfer out to airport, fly to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to river port for your 3–hour boat journey to the jungle lodge.
Day 4:
AMAZON JUNGLE LODGE (B, L, D)
Choose from a range of jungle activities.
Day 5:
PUERTO MALDONADO – CUZCO (B)
Early morning transfer to Puerto Maldonado airport for your flight to Cuzco. Transfer to hotel on arrival. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 6:
CUZCO – SACRED VALLEY (B)
Full day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas visiting the ruins of Ollantaytambo and Pisac and the colourful local market.
Day 7:
CUZCO – INCA TRAIL (B, L, D)
Early pick up in Cuzco, bus to Chilca to begin your trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Trek to your first camp at Wayllabamba, on the way you will have a guided tour of the archaeological complex of Llactapata. Dinner and overnight in tents at the campsite.
Day 8:
INCA TRAIL (B, L, D)
Walk towards the highest point past WarmiwaƱiusca or Dead Woman`s Pass, at approximately 4,200 m. Continue to Pacayayo after lunch. Camp, dinner and overnight.
Day 9:
INCA TRAIL (B, L, D)
Descend towards the second most important pass of the trail towards the Inca citadel of Sayacmarca. After a short break, continue walking to WiƱay Huayna (Forever Young) for a guided visit of this impressive archaeological complex with a spectacular setting. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 10:
INCA TRAIL – MACHU PICCHU (B)
Trek through orchid rich cloud forest to reach Machu Picchu by early morning. Tour of the citadel. Overnight at hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 11:
MACHU PICCHU – CUZCO (B)
Free morning to explore the surroundings. Afternoon train back to Cuzco. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 12:
CUZCO – PUNO (B, L)
Spectacular bus journey across the altiplano, visiting Inca temples and hot springs on the way to the city of Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Day 13:
PUNO – UROS ISLANDS (B)
Half day tour to visit a local Andean village on the Uros Islands.
Day 14:
PUNO – LIMA (B)
Transfer to Juliaca airport for your flight to Lima. Transfer to hotel.
Day 15:
: LIMA (B)
Transfer to airport.
