Paraguay
is a landlocked country
surrounded by Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia. It is divided into two
unequal portions . The west of the river Chaco, the land is infertile
and sparsely populated, to the east, where most of the population is
concentrated, there are elevated plateau of grasslands, with patches of
subtropical forests stretching all the way to Rio Parana on the
Brazilian and Argentinian borders.

To the east of Paraguay the
climate is humid, with even rainfalls. Temparatures are hot in summer
(average 35 degrees Celcius) and can drop to 5 degrees in the winter.
