With support of South America Tourism Office, the community of Mullak’as-Misminay launched a homestay programs. Over time, the participants have received training and assistance, and now the service they offer is top notch and their homes perfectly adapted to this type of tourist experience, which centers around the families’ day-to-day activities and traditions that have been passed down through the generations and kept alive even today. What this village provides is one of the best homestay programs in Cusco, and your visit contributes to the community’s development and the quality of life of the people living there.
The rural community of Mullak’as Misminay is located in the Cusco department, 90 minutes away from the imperial city of Cusco and 20 minutes away from the archaeological complex of Moray.
The local hosts, dressed in their outfits used for special occasions, will greet you with a traditional welcome There will be singing and dancing, and they will offer you coca tea, which will help you acclimate to the altitude. During your stay in the community, you will share in three daily activities that will grant you an idea of their traditions and lifestyle.
