Inca Trail

The Inca Trail is one of the best-known and most popular hikes in South America. Views of snowcapped mountains, cloud forests, the beautifully paved trails and hundreds of stone steps set amongst an alpine and jungle environment as well as visits to five major Inca sites make this an unforgettable trek.

Daily departures from Cuzco.

Inca Trek 5 Days / 4 Nights

Day 1 (L, D)

Travel by train to Km 82 to begin trek. Camp at Llulluchapampa.

Day 2 (B, L, D)

Climb to the Warmiwai±usca pass at 4,200 meters, where you have a panoramic view of the Vilcanota range. Camp at Wai±usca.

Day 3 (B, L, D)

Hike to Runcuracay, where the original Inca path begins, and arrive at Sayamarca, perched on a mountain ridge. Camp at Wiñaywayna.

Day 4 (B, L)

Trek through orchid-rich cloud forest to reach Intipunko to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu Sanctuary. After a guided tour of the ruins, descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for overnight stay at local hotel.

 Day 5 (B)

Free day to explore the ruins before afternoon train back to Cuzco. (Park entrance fee not included.)

Passengers are recommended to provide their own sleeping bags or hire them locally. 

Inca Trek 2 Days / 1 Night

Designed for those who are not able to do the longer trek, but who want to experience the final stretch of the Inca Trail and the stunning descent to Machu Picchu.

Day 1 (B, L)

Departure from Cuzco by train to reach KM104, from where this trek commences. Stay overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 2 (B)

Morning tour of the ruins before afternoon train to Cuzco.

Permit also required for shorter trek (2 Day/1 Night Trek).
