Starting in Mexico City, travel to nearby Morelia, a city full of charming plazas and fountains. Continue to historic Patzcuaro, before a visit to the legendary island of Janitzio. In the afternoon, travel to elegant Guadalajara, the home of the Mariachi, tequila and the most 'Mexican' of all cities. This city, the second largest in Mexico, will impress you with its beauty and sophistication.

Visit Guadalajara's breathtaking 17th and 18th century buildings, museums and Tlaquepaque, the best artists' market in the country. Enjoy pristine Guanajuato, honoured by UNESCO for its preservation of colonial architecture and the heart of the gold and silver region of Mexico. Travel to the sister city of San Miguel de Allende.

Day 1: Mexico City - Patzcuaro

Pick up from hotel and drive to Morelia for sightseeing tour. On arrival, sightseeing tour of Patzcuaro.

Day 2: Patzcuaro - Guadalajara (B)

Boat tour on Guadalajara Lake and visit to Janitzio Island. Drive to Guadalajara.

Day 3: Guadalajara (B)

Half day sightseeing tour.

Day 4: Guadalajara - Guanajuato (B)

Drive to Tlaquepaque village, the cradle of Mariachi music and pottery. Continue onto Guanajuato.

Day 5: Guanajuato - San Miguel De Allende (B)

Sightseeing tour of Guanajuato colonial centre. Continue onto San Miguel de Allende.

Day 6: San Miguel De Allende - Mexico City (B)

Morning tour of San Miguel de Allende. Drive back to Mexico City via Queretero and San Juan del Rio, famous for semi-precious gems. Transfer to hotel.
