Departures: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Experience a scenic train ride through the Andes mountains on what is considered "the most difficult train in the world" to Rio Bamba, the capital of the Chimborazo province and roughly the geographical centre of Ecuador. This quiet agricultural town is sometimes known as the "Sultan of the Andes", and travellers are promised breath-taking views of Ecuador's highest peak, Chimborazo at 6,310 metres.

Day 1: QUITO - BAi‘OS - RIOBAMBA

Depart from Quito. Visit the cities of Amabato and Banos, the Zoo and the Sanctuary's main waterfalls. Afternoon transfer to Rioabamba at the foot of the Chimborazo Alps.

Day 2: RIOBAMBA - NARIZ DEL DIABLO (B)

Depart from Riobamba to Alausi, where you board the train, and possibly ride on the roof! Return to Quito on a scenic route via mountains and jungles.
