The Manatee Amazon Explorer riverboat accommodates 26 guests in 13 double cabins with individual air conditioning, running hot water, large dining room and inviting bar and lounge area. The 3-decker vessel has an experienced crew of 11 including expert English speaking naturalist guides.

Monday departures.

Day 1: Monday: (L D) Morning flight from Quito to Francisco de Orellana. Navigation to the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve

Day 2: Tuesday: (B L D) Visit to one of the most pristine rivers in Ecuadorian Amazonia, Largatococha River. Here you may observe the black water system, which is the home of the legendary Pink River Dolphins, River Turtles, Black Caimans and the enigmatic Amazon Manatee. Afternoon trip to a major black water lake which provides the opportunity to watch the giant otters.

Day 3: Wednesday: (B L D) Morning visit to an indigenous community centre, which gives the opportunity to meet the locals and learn how they live. An afternoon cooking lesson will be provided on board.

Day 4: Thursday: (B L D) Morning excursion to Parrot’s Clay licks, a great place to see different bird species. Afternoon visit to the Limoncocha Biological Reserve and a night search for the black caiman.

Day 5: Friday: (B) Return to the city of Coca to take the morning flight back to Quito.
