The Ciudad Perdida Archaeological Park, also known as Teyuna, is located

on the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at the edge of the Buritaca River.

Ciudad Perdida means “lost city” in English.

Ciudad Perdida is reached by crossing forests full of exotic fauna and

flora, hanging bridges, mountains, and waterfalls. In the midst of a tropical

forest and 40 and 50-meter tall trees are found the ruins of the great

Tayrona empire, characterized by a sophisticated integration of nature and

civilization and splendid stone architecture.

Day 1: SANTA MARTA – ADAM’S HOUSE (D) Arrive at Santa Marta and

transfer to Machete Pelao. A Two hour walk through forests before arriving

at Adams House, one of the early settlers of the area. Dinner and overnight

Day 2: ADAM’S HOUSE – GABRIEL’S HOUSE (B L D) Early morning start to

the Indian reservation of Koguis, descendants of the Tayronas civilization.

Swimming at Rio Buritaca before dinner and overnight at Gabriel House, the

only Colonist of the area, located inside the village. (6 hour walk)

Day 3: CUIDAD PERDIDA (LOST CITY) (B L D) A six hour journey through the

forrest and along the river banks before climbing the 2000 steps arriving at

Ciudad Perdida. The city was built by the Tayrona between 500 and 700

BC, and was considered one of the most important settlements. Afternoon

at leisure to explore the wonderful ruins before making camp. Dinner and

overnight at visitors centre.

Day 4: RETURN TO GABRIEL’S HOUSE (B L D) Start your journey back by

trekking to Gabriel’s House. Overnight

Day 5: GABRIEL’S HOUSE – SANTA MARTA (B) a Three hour trel takes you

back to Machete where a vehicle will transport you to Santa Marta.
