La Paz to San Pedro de Atacama

Discover the austere beauty of the Salt Flats, its islands and ecosystems before continuing along the plains, seeing lagoons, geysers and rare species of flamingos before reaching the town located within the driest desert in the world, San Pedro de Atacama in Chile.

Day 1: La Paz – Uyuni

Pick up from La Paz, catching a bus then train to Uyuni via the town of Oruro

Day 2: Uyuni – Salt Flats – Ojo Perdiz (B,L,D)

Discover the austere beauty of the Salt Flats, its islands and ecosystems before continuing to the Coquesa village and its mummies. Travel thought the mining to town of San Cristobal and the Valley of the Rocks and Hedionda lagoon before reaching Ojo de Perdiz.

Day 3: Ojo Perdiz – San Pedro de Atacama (B,L)

Travel to the Red lagoon, home to the types of flamingos who breed in the waters and continue past the geysers of the Morning Sun, streams and volcanic mud pools. You will arrive at Green Lagoon, resembling a giant emerald in the middle of the desert before continuing past the Chilean border to the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama.
